Courteney Cox (the famous Monica Geller from friends) released a video with a Ghostface on her Instagram page to share the news with her fans about the completion of the shooting on Scream 6.
Courteney Cox took to her Instagram to tell her fans that she has wrapped up the shoot for her upcoming thriller, Scream 6. After Wes Craven’s final Scream film, Scream 4, was released ten years ago, renowned directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett helped revive the slasher film franchise with a new movie by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. Scream, released in 2022, was a critical and financial success, with many appreciating its homages to Wes Craven, modernized story points, and less campy tone. The unnamed Scream 6, which completes Craven’s initial plan for a trilogy to be born from Scream 4, was made possible by the remake’s success.
The story behind Scream 6
It seems like Scream 6’s storyline is still unknown. Still, Hayden Panettiere and Cox’s Gale Weathers and Brian Reed’s Gale Weathers will link up with the reboot’s survivors in the upcoming movie. Unaware that another series of Ghostface killings is soon to be released, Sam (Melissa Barrera), Tara (Jenna Ortega), Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown), and Chad (Mason Gooding) allegedly move to New York to start again. Tony Revolori, Samara Weaving, Dermot Mulroney, and Henry Czerny are new to the franchise. Still, Neve Campbell, who has played the lead character of Sidney Prescott since the beginning, won’t be back for Scream 6. There is a new update on Scream 6 filming, which has been under production in Vancouver since June.
Courteney Cox Instagram Video
Courteney Cox shared a reel video on her Instagram where she hints at her fans with a mysterious take turn. The video shows that Courteney is sitting at her home while she looks at CCTV footage and sees a man wearing a Ghostface mask and becomes hilariously terrified by the act. As soon as the Ghostface man enters her lounge, her video goes blackout.
Cox’s humorous wrap-up video is a subtle homage to one of the most iconic sequences from Scream 4, as some of the franchise’s ardent fans may remember. Gale disguises cameras throughout the Stab-A-Thon in the film. Dewey swiftly saves Gale, but sadly the actual Ghostface appears, hides all the cameras, and stabs Gale. Cox’s video quietly emphasizes Gale’s significant role in Scream 6 now that both Dewey and Sidney are gone, although it’s only a lighthearted reference. However, she should have a substantial part because she is the final survivor of the legacy characters.
It’s hard to draw many conclusions from Cox’s video, given the scarcity of information on Scream 6’s premise. However, the film’s ability to continue the main filming without encountering obstacles means its March 2023 release date is still on track. That said, the information released about Scream 6 has come from set leaks, leaked images, and videos, such as those that illustrate Panetierre’s comeback and Gale’s professional development. When questioned about the future of Scream earlier this year, Cox responded casually. There is a chance that Gale will survive Scream 6, though, since her confidence and excitement were obvious. We are still looking for more updates to come our way related to the movie.
