James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has clarified that they are not thinking about the replacement of Daniel Craig right now!
During an interview on BBC Radio 4’s popular Today program on Monday morning, Eon Productions (head of the Bond franchise) were asked if they planned to replace Daniel Craig as the new 007. To this, Barbara Broccoli immediately said, “Oh God no,” and added, “We’re not thinking about it at all. We want Daniel to have his time of celebration. Next year we’ll start thinking about the future.”
Daniel Craig has played the role of James Bond for 15 years, and he has nailed every performance. When asked if Craig has any suggestions or say about who should replace him, Michael G. Wilson said, “He’s been such a great Bond. Those are big shoes to fill. I can’t even [think if it’s] possible.
Rumors are that the Venom star “Tom Hardy” might replace Craig as the new Bond. There was also some news about the role of Bond being portrayed by a woman. However, that rumor was dusted when Broccoli told the UK’s Press Association news agency that no woman would play the role of James Bond.
Broccoli said, “James Bond is a male character. I hope that there will be many, many films made with women, for women, by women, about women. I don’t think we have to take a male character and have a woman portray him. So yes, I see him as male. And I’m sort of in denial, I would love for Daniel to continue forever.”
During the Radio 4 interview, Wilson praised Craig, stating,
“We’re very, very lucky to get him to play this role,” she said. “We could see he was reluctant to do it because he knew it would change his life, which it obviously has. It’s changed his life, but it hasn’t changed him. What he’s enabled us to do with the franchise is really explore the emotional life of Bond and go into the person and complexity and conflicts that happen within the Bond character.”

‘No Time to Die‘ is Daniel Craig’s last movie for the James Bond franchise, and its world premiere tomorrow (Sept. 28) at London’s Royal Albert Hall. For the last 15 years, Craig has played the role of 007 with all his heart, and there is no doubt that his portrayal of the British Spy is one of the most loved ones among the audience all over the globe.
