Marvel Studios is gearing up for a new year with a new slate of films including Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk, and another series has been added to our list of things to binge-watch. The Moon Knight trailer is out, starring Oscar Isaac, and the movie will be released on March 30.
Finally, the wait is over! Moon Knight has arrived with its first look! The Marvel Studios project Moon Knight has been the most enigmatic of the Marvel Studios projects coming to Disney+. During the NFL Super Wild Card game, a brand-new teaser for the upcoming Marvel Studios’ series of the same name, as well as the first look at a new poster, aired, offering viewers a peek of the mayhem that would soon consume star Oscar Isaac.
The first-look trailer for the Moon Knight was released on YouTube on Tuesday, that revolves around a dark comic book character, Marc Spector (Isaac), a former marine-turned-mercenary who turns to a life of vigilantism after becoming a human vessel for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu and gaining extraordinary powers.
Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke, and May Calamawy starred in The Moon Knight. The episodes were directed by Mohamed Diab and the team of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Mohamed Diab, Jeremy Slater, and Oscar Isaac are the executive producers. Grant Curtis, Trevor Waterson, and Rebecca Kirsch serve as co-executive producers. Whereas Umbrella Academy’s Jeremy Slater is the head writer of the Moon Knight.
The Moon Knight is about an ex-soldier named Marc Spector, who also goes by the name Steven Grant (played by Isaac) and suffers from an identity crisis. His insomnia makes him a channel for Khonshu, an Egyptian moon god, which exacerbates his anxieties.
The trailer starts with Kid Cudi’s 2008 hit “Day ‘N’ Nite,” with Steven/Marc holding a Rubik’s cube while talking to a hotline about his sleeping condition and the gap between his life and his dreams. He leaps from his bed only to discover that he is tethered to it. He seems to have forgotten how he ended up in this situation and goes about his day at the museum. He works at a gallery that specializes in Egyptian antiques, and it is there that he unwittingly contacts Khonshu.
Later, he meets another figure, played by Ethan Hawke, who advises Steve/Marc to follow and embrace the evil within. Later in the trailer, he is engulfed by the Moon Knight, who is seen beating up another creature. Steven/Marc is seen following the orders of his new inner self Khonshu, who brings him from America to Egypt and so on, in a Venom-like fashion.
Moon Knight is a brand-new superhero for the Marvel Universe, as opposed to prior Disney Plus shows that concentrated on established Marvel heroes. Moon Knight has yet to be linked to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but fans believe he will appear with Doctor Strange.
Moon Knight is set to premiere on March 30. It’s likely that it’ll broadcast all of its episodes weekly — though, as with WandaVision and Hawkeye, it’s always possible that the first two episodes will air simultaneously. On the other hand, Moon Knight stands out because it has no obvious or immediate ties to any other MCU film or shows.
Would it keep Hawkeye’s more grounded approach to action? Would it go for a crazier character like Loki or WandaVision, or would it introduce something new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Moon Knight could be everything or nothing at all.
